The U.S. Mint uses state-of-the-art equipment and quality control techniques to produce billions of coins each year. Only a very small percentage are mis-struck - even fewer of these mint errors are allowed into circulation. Oddities like these off-center pennies have sold for hundreds and in some cases, even thousands of dollars more than their face value! Designed by Victor David Brenner, these pennies were issued from 1909 to the present day by the Philadelphia and San Francisco Mints. To present this coin in its full glory we have enclosed it in a Fort Knox box (3” wide x 3” long x 2 1/2” high). A great deal! |
